Simulation Tool for Community School (CS)

The link below will allow CSs to download an excel spreadsheet containing a simulation of the “CS Funding Simulation” for FY2013. The purpose of this tool is to allow CSs to complete estimates of changes in state funding related to changing community school student enrollment including special education kindergarten and grade 1-12 student category 1-6, Other students Kindergarten and grade 1-12 student, JVS student, Ohio Work First (OWF) student, career technical education student and foundation amounts. The estimates that are derived assume all other variable are constant.
It is important to understand that the spreadsheet’s revised calculations are just estimates. The actual state funding that CSs will receive in FY2013 depend on a number of variables.
To view the simulation for a single CS, please save the simulation tool on your computer before changing any factor. Then, enter the IRN for the CS in the highlighted IRN field on the worksheet tilled “Community School & Statewide.” To change the factors used in the simulation, open the worksheets according to the chart below. Please read the instructions sheet before changing any factor.

Simulation Data and Factor Assumptions
- Special Ed. Kindergarten Cat. 1-6 and Other Kindergarten are based on FY2013 July payment
- Special Ed. Grade 1-12 and Other Grade 1-12 are based on FY2013 July payment
- JVS FTE is based on FY2013 July payment
- Ohio Work First (OWF) student is based on FY2013 July payment.
- Career Technical student is based on FY2013 July payment
