In November 2006, Ohio’s assessment system for reading and mathematics was granted full approval from a comprehensive peer review conducted by the U.S. Department of Education. Ohio was one of the first 10 states which achieved a full approval status by the U.S. Department of Education for these tests. All states must receive this approval as part of the No Child Left Behind Program. This review examined all aspects of the reading and mathematics assessments, and is an objective affirmation of the high technical quality of the assessments.
