FAST is a non-curricular, family strengthening, and parent involvement program that has several components. The program is delivered in schools and communities using multifamily group interaction to: build relationships between parents and schools, and improve the parent-child bond; impart values and norms including personal accountability and family relationship management; and empower parents to become the primary protective agents for their children.

The U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration identified the FAST program as an evidence-based model.
