Far East Regional Partnership for Conceptually Based Mathematics (FERPCBM)

The Far East Regional Partnership for Conceptually Based Mathematics project utilizes content-rich activities developed by mathematics university faculty partners, supplementing Ohio Mathematics Academy Program (OMAP) modules to engage 131 mathematics teachers of grades three through 10.

This project utilizes a conceptual approach to develop deep content knowledge at a level appropriate for the teacher while modeling activities appropriate for all students. Teachers from 47 partnership districts attended a one-week summer session and will continue their professional development through eight one-day school year sessions to synthesize their conceptual understanding of mathematics and reflect on content specific pedagogy.
