Race to the Top Mini-Grant Competition

Ohio’s winning Race to the Top Application includes a project to develop measures of student growth in non-tested grades and subjects. Accordingly, this mini-grant competition will provide resources for LEAs to expand teacher Value-Added beyond the “tested” grades and subjects (specifically Math and Reading, grades 4-8) to other grades and subjects (such as 2nd and 3rd grade and science and social studies) through use of assessments such as Terra Nova, Iowa Test of Basic Skills, Renaissance STAR and NWEA MAP.  All Race to the Top Local Education Agencies (LEAs) that use the approved assessments in the eligible grades and subjects have the opportunity to apply for these competitive funds in Round 2 of the mini-grant competition provided that they meet the other eligibility requirements.

The deadline to apply for a grant is Friday, September 21, 2012.
