Welcome to the Early Learning Initiative (ELI) Web pages, which have been designed to provide information to parents and to contracted ELI agencies and providers. In addition, these Web pages may be useful for those interested in learning more about early learning in general as well as the programmatic and fiscal features of ELI.

Ohio's Early Learning Initiative has been designed to provide children, often identified as at-risk for success in school, with quality educational experiences.

In addition, ELI programs provide child care services for working families.

  • ELI teachers provide key learning experiences, assess children's learning, health and development.
  • ELI programs offer additional hours for quality child care services beyond the educational hours.
  • ELI programs follow Ohio's Early learning Guidelines for continuous quality program improvement
  • ELI programs provide linkages to community services to assure that children and their families receive the support needed, when needed.
